Electrical testing & EICR in Perth

EICR in Perth, Dundee and Fife

Home Electrical Services (Scotland) provide a reliable EICR service all over Scotland. As members of the NICEIC we provide EICR electrical testing to the current electrical standards. We carry out EICR's for domestic properties including landlords and home owners, commercial properties and letting agents.

We also provide landlord safety certificates, appliance testing (PAT), electrical testing and HMO periodic inspection certificates throughout Perth.

We provide EICR’s at a very competitive cost and provide a quote for any remedial repairs required.

For the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), the electrician will check the following:

  • Supply of electricity
  • Electrical fittings, including the consumer unit, all switches, sockets & Light fittings
  • Any visible wiring
  • Fixed electrical equipment, including electrical heating equipment
  • Hard-wired smoke and fire detectors

The electrician will provide an EICR report that highlights any issues using different classifications:

  • code C1 indicating ‘danger present’,
  • code C2 indicating ‘potentially dangerous’
  • code C3 indicating 'improvement recommended'
  • code FI indicating ‘further investigation required’. Any remedial work that is undertaken as a result of the inspection will then be recorded on a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate.

How often do I require an EICR?

An EICR (also known as a landlord safety certificate) must be carried out Before a tenancy starts, and During the tenancy, at intervals of no more than 5 years from the date of the previous inspection.
